Every Color In The Sky is a swirling river of sonic textures. Each track offers something distinct – the haunting, melancholy notes of Darkness Falls, the plucky bassline of Hey, Houdini, the soft, rolling lilt of Night Passage. They each feel comfortable among the others, all playing within the psych-folk sounds that Kimmel has found a clear home in.

If There Was No Word For Sky is a stand-out on this project. Its delicate acoustic intro gently leads us into a simple ballad, with just a hint of spacey tones at the edges. It’s a stunning combination of somberness and hopefulness, as it drifts between despondent melodies and brighter interludes.

This is the kind of music you can lose yourself in. Every Color In The Sky is a near-perfect blend of subtle arrangements, complex instrumentation, and expertly balanced production that takes this music from atmospheric and makes it otherworldly.
